ReGenVen Studio emerged from UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology.
Our Origin Story
In Fall 2025, the Sutardja Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (SCET) at UC Berkeley introduced a new course: The Regenerative Ventures Challenge Lab. It brought together 40+ students from widely different backgrounds and disciplines, and put them through an intensive process of team formation, problem discovery and venture building.
The result? Eight viable startups addressing real regenerative challenges across finance, climate, health, policy and economic equity.
But here is what matters most: these ventures weren't built in isolation by solo founders chasing personal exits, but by diverse teams who learned to listen faster, collaborate deeper and create solutions that don’t trade off one stakeholder for another.
From this class, the venture studio was born, and we’re making it official.

We're Building A Different Kind of Venture Studio
ReGenVen Studio was born from a simple observation: the world doesn't need more startups that extract value. It needs ventures that regenerate it by creating wealth while strengthening communities, innovating while improving the quality of life and scale while healing the very systems they touch.
The Paradox We are Solving
We live in the age of unprecedented technological advancement and economic potential. AI, quantum computing , web3 and biotech breakthroughs and yet, quality of life for many is declining. The divide between economic opportunity and human flourishing keeps widening.
The modern paradox is then: how can innovation create so much wealth while simultaneously eroding the conditions for thriving communities, sustainable ecosystems and meaningful work?
At ReGenVen Studio, we reject the premise that this trade-off is inevitable. We believe that entrepreneurship can be generative, not extractive.
